Just Eat Mileage Tracker Guide
Build a complete journey log around your real shift, even when Just Eat work overlaps with other delivery platforms.

What a mileage tracker should record
A useful log identifies when, where and why the journey happened. Keep the date, business purpose, vehicle, distance and supporting evidence such as an odometer reading or route trace. A platform activity screen can support the record but may not cover every eligible or ineligible leg.
Do not duplicate mixed-platform miles
If one shift includes Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo orders, record the real journey once and tag the platforms used. Do not multiply the same distance by the number of apps that were online. Keep earnings by platform separately so the financial record can still be reconciled.
Journey boundaries need context
Travel between deliveries can look different from travel from home to a regular workplace. Eligibility is fact-specific, so record the purpose rather than letting GPS distance make the tax decision. If a depot, zone or waiting area functions as a regular workplace, get guidance for your circumstances.
Simplified vehicle expenses
For eligible self-employed work in 2026/27, HMRC’s simplified rates are 55p per business mile for the first 10,000 miles in cars and goods vehicles, 25p after that, and 24p for motorcycles. The 10,000-mile band applies across the qualifying business use of the same trade, not separately to each app.
Use the mileage calculator to estimate the potential deduction. Employees and cyclists follow different rules.
A simple weekly routine
- Start a shift record before work travel begins.
- Record all platforms used during the shift.
- Stop the shift and review the route, distance and purpose.
- Correct gaps while the journey is still fresh.
- Reconcile the week with platform statements and fuel or charging records.
Just Eat mileage FAQs
Can I claim fuel as well as simplified mileage?
No. The simplified vehicle rate replaces vehicle running costs such as fuel, insurance, repairs and servicing for that vehicle.
Does GPS prove a journey is allowable?
No. GPS supports distance and route evidence. The business purpose and facts determine whether it qualifies.
What if I am an employee?
The self-employed simplified-expense rates do not automatically apply. Check employment-expense rules and any employer reimbursement.
